About the Centre of Excellence

The Centre of Excellence in Digital and High-Tech Skills is being established at the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FICT), BUITEMS under the EU-funded TVET Sector Support Programme (EU TVET IV), implemented by the British Council Pakistan.
The CoE aims to increase the participation of women in the digital economy by providing access to high-quality, market-driven training in emerging technologies. It focuses on equipping women, including those from underserved communities, with skills that enhance employability, entrepreneurship, and economic inclusion.
While the dedicated CoE facility is currently under development, training activities are being initiated at BUITEMS to ensure early access to learning opportunities.

About The EU TVET-IV

The EU-funded TVET Sector Support Programme Phase IV (EU TVET-IV) builds on Team Europe’s long-standing commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s technical and vocational education system by improving access, quality, inclusivity, and labour market relevance. Within this programme, Output 4, implemented by the British Council, focuses on:
Output 4.1: Developing and implementing digital and high-tech CBT&A courses for training women, including those from refugee communities and returnees. Output 4.2: Establishing internationally accredited Centres of Excellence for digital and high-tech skills for women and offering career-focused training programmes.

Our Approach

The CoE will operate through an innovative Hub-and-Spoke model, where:

Spokes (satellite institutes) will extend the access
Learning, mentorship, and resources will be shared digitally

Courses Starting at BUITEMS (June 2026)

While the CoE facility is under construction, initial training programmes will be offered at BUITEMS starting: 15 June 2026
These courses are designed based on Labour Market Intelligence (LMI) to ensure relevance to current and future job markets, including freelance and digital economy opportunities.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: Who can apply?
A: Women applicants from Balochistan only, having interest in digital skills, should have Matric qualification, with basic computer literacy or Level-3 certification and have basic English proficiency.
Q: Is there any course fee?
A: These pilot courses are fully funded for women, under the EU TVET-IV programme.
Q: Is the certification recognized?
A: Yes, the programme is aligned with international standards and endorsed by NAVTTC.
