Quetta, July 7, 2026: The Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) successfully hosted the re-accreditation visit of the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) for its undergraduate engineering programs on July 6–7, 2026.
The PEC Evaluation Teams visited the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture and the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the University's engineering programs in accordance with the Council's accreditation standards and quality assurance framework.
The visiting teams were received by Prof. Dr. Arbab Mirwais Kasi, Pro Vice Chancellor, along with Dr. Ghulam Ullah Khan, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Engr. Dr. Surat Khan, Dean, Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, and Jamal Mustafa, Registrar, BUITEMS, who welcomed the evaluators and highlighted the University's commitment to academic excellence, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.
During the two-day visit, the evaluation teams reviewed the academic, administrative, and laboratory facilities of the following engineering disciplines:
Civil Engineering
Chemical Engineering
Petroleum & Gas Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Mining Engineering
Computer Engineering
The evaluators held detailed meetings with the University leadership, deans, faculty members, students, alumni, and other stakeholders. They also inspected laboratories, classrooms, libraries, research facilities, and supporting infrastructure while reviewing curriculum implementation, Outcome-Based Education (OBE) practices, quality assurance mechanisms, faculty credentials, research activities, industry linkages, student support services, and institutional governance.
The re-accreditation exercise reflects BUITEMS' continued commitment to maintaining high academic standards and ensuring that its engineering programs meet the national and international quality benchmarks established by the Pakistan Engineering Council.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Arbab Mirwais Kasi, Pro Vice Chancellor, reaffirmed the University's dedication to providing quality engineering education, promoting innovation, strengthening research, and producing competent graduates capable of addressing contemporary engineering challenges and contributing to the socio-economic development of Pakistan.
Dr. Ghulam Ullah Khan and Engr. Dr. Surat Khan appreciated the valuable feedback provided by the PEC Evaluation Teams and reiterated the University's resolve to continuously enhance academic quality, modernize engineering education, and strengthen collaboration with industry to ensure graduates remain competitive in the evolving global engineering landscape.
