The Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) organized a one-day training workshop on “Digital Tools & AI in Teaching” at the Training Hall, Takatu Campus, in collaboration with the Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Centre (PASTIC), Sub-Centre Quetta.
Organized by the Directorate of Human Resource Management – Training & Development (T&D), BUITEMS, the workshop aimed to equip educators with practical knowledge and skills to effectively integrate digital teaching tools and Artificial Intelligence (AI) into teaching and learning.
The programme commenced with registration and recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Syed Kamran Sami, Director ORIC, BUITEMS. A representative of PASTIC Quetta also delivered introductory remarks.
The training sessions were conducted by Dr. Saeed Ahmed Magsi, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, BUITEMS. The first session focused on the foundations of AI integration and digital teaching tools, covering Artificial Intelligence, its ethical use, and Eduaide.ai, an AI-powered workspace designed to support educators.
The second session focused on the practical application of AI in education, introducing participants to MagicSchool.ai and NotebookLM. The sessions demonstrated how AI-powered tools can support lesson planning, content creation, student assessment, personalized learning, and teaching efficiency. NotebookLM was also introduced as an AI-powered research and learning assistant.
The workshop adopted a practical approach, enabling participants to explore how emerging technologies can contribute to more engaging, efficient, and technology-enabled learning environments. Particular emphasis was placed on the responsible and effective use of AI in education.
The initiative reflects BUITEMS’ commitment to continuous professional development, digital transformation and innovation in education. By strengthening educators’ capacity to use contemporary digital and AI tools, the University continues to prepare its academic community for the rapidly evolving demands of higher education.
The programme concluded with the distribution of certificates, recognizing the participation of attendees in the professional development initiative.
