Quetta, 14 August 2026: The Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) celebrated the 79th Independence Day of Pakistan with immense patriotic spirit and enthusiasm at the Vice Chancellor Secretariat Lawn, under the theme “جشنِ آزادی، معرکہ حق سے تعمیرِ پاکستان”.
The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Khalid Hafeez (T.I.), Vice Chancellor, BUITEMS; Mr. Jamal Mustafa, Registrar; Deans; Directors; faculty members; staff; students; alumni; and a large number of children, who participated enthusiastically in the Independence Day celebrations.
The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the National Anthem of Pakistan. The national flag was then hoisted, marking a proud and deeply patriotic moment for the BUITEMS community.
In his welcome address, Prof. Dr. Abdul Wadood, Director Academics and Student Affairs, highlighted the importance of youth in nation-building and encouraged students to play their role in the progress and prosperity of Pakistan through education, character, innovation, and responsible citizenship.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Hafeez (T.I.), in his address, emphasized the importance of academic excellence, patriotism, unity, and responsibility in building a stronger Pakistan. He urged students to acquire knowledge and skills, uphold national values, and contribute positively to the development of the country.
The celebrations also featured a vibrant national song performance, which filled the atmosphere with patriotic spirit. A student delivered an inspiring declamation address reflecting on the meaning of freedom, the sacrifices of the nation's founders and heroes, and the responsibilities of the younger generation.
The ceremony also included a cake-cutting ceremony, followed by a group photograph of the university leadership, faculty members, staff, students, alumni, and other participants.
The presence of children alongside the university community added a special dimension to the celebration, symbolizing the importance of nurturing patriotism, national values, and a sense of responsibility among the younger generation.
The 79th Independence Day celebration at BUITEMS reaffirmed the University's commitment to promoting patriotism, unity, education, innovation, and responsible citizenship. The celebration served as a reminder that the future of Pakistan depends on a generation equipped with knowledge, character, dedication, and a strong commitment to national progress.
