Final Practicum Evaluations

The Department of Education successfully conducted the Final Lesson Observation of the long-term practicum for 8th-semester students on the 14th and 15th of July in the Training Room. The session was held under the supervision of the course instructor, Ms. Khalida Naaz, and marked the culmination of the students’ practicum journey, during which they delivered practice lessons at Islamia Boys High School and Government Girls Railway High School. The purpose of this event was to assess the teaching competencies of pre-service teachers, connect theory with practice, and offer them valuable feedback from experienced professionals.

The event was graced by the honourable Vice Chancellor of the university, who visited the session and appreciated the students’ efforts. Among the esteemed guests were Dr. Aurangzaib Alamgir, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Social Sciences (FFSH), and Prof. Dr. Abdul Wadood, who attended as university guests. In addition, the principals of Islamia Boys High School and Government Girls Railway High School were present, acknowledging the contributions of the student-teachers who conducted their practicum sessions at their respective institutions.

During the session, students shared reflections on their practicum experiences, highlighting their learning progress and classroom engagements. Dr. Khadija Jaffar the Chairperson of the Department of Education distributed souvenirs to the respected guests as a token of appreciation for their support and collaboration. In her remarks, the Chairperson acknowledged the dedication of the students and faculty and emphasized the importance of continued partnerships between the university and local schools.

To recognize outstanding student performance, the department announced special awards for the top three student-teachers based on their teaching effectiveness, classroom management, and lesson planning throughout the practicum. Certificates for first, second, and third positions were awarded, which served as a motivation for all students to pursue excellence in their teaching careers.

This Final Lesson Observation session not only celebrated the hard work and progress of the 8th-semester students but also reinforced the department’s commitment to quality teacher education through school-based experiences and academic collaboration.
