The Department of Education organized a special awareness session on 11 July 2025 for 4th-semester students enrolled in the course Child Development, under the guidance of the course instructor, Ms. Khalida Naaz. The session focused on the topic “Awareness of Child Development Stages” and aimed to enhance students’ understanding of key developmental milestones in children and the importance of early identification and support.

The event featured two invited guest speakers: Dr. Sawita Kumari, Assistant Professor, and Ms. Sana Batool, Clinical Psychologist. In addition to the scheduled speakers, Dr. Taimoor Rajpoot, an autism expert, voluntarily joined the session and enriched the discussion with his expert insights, particularly focusing on autism spectrum disorders and special needs. All three speakers delivered highly informative presentations, combining academic knowledge with real-world experiences, and engaged students in thoughtful discussion about the various stages of child development.

The session began with a warm welcome extended by the students to the distinguished guests. Flower bouquets were presented to the speakers and to Dr. Aurangzaib Alamgir, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Social Sciences (FFSH), as a gesture of respect and gratitude. The presence of these experienced professionals brought immense value to the session, making it both enlightening and inspiring for the students.

At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Khadija Jaffar, Chairperson of the Department of Education, presented souvenirs to all guest speakers in appreciation of their valuable contributions to the session. The entire event was further enhanced by the beautiful decoration of the venue, which was managed by students of 4th Semester, Sections A and B. Their efforts created a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere that reflected the enthusiasm and professionalism of the department.

Overall, the session was a meaningful learning experience that deepened students’ knowledge of child development and emphasized the significance of awareness and early intervention in the growth and well-being of children. The Department of Education remains committed to providing such opportunities that bridge academic learning with practical insights.
